Why SALSA?
The history of SALSA DRAGONBOAT begins in 2011 when its founder – Yurii Bardashevskyi – started to organize spectacular sports festivals among salsa dance schools, business companies, and amateurs. For several years, such events gathered up to 300 people.
Our achievements
Since 2014, the SALSA DRAGONBOAT has been taking part in national and regional UDBF competitions in Ukraine among dragonboat professional sports clubs representing the Zhytomyr region.
Among the significant successes of the club, we can mention the bronze medals for 12 km race (Ukraine Cup) in the open class in 2015 and 2016.
In 2017, SALSA DRAGONBOAT participated for the first time in the EDBF European Club Crews Championships in Divonne-les-Bains, France. After the first race, the club celebrated the victory – the first place in 2000 m race (small boat, mixed class). In addition, we won two bronze medals in the open class at distances of 2000 and 200 m.
This year, SALSA DRAGONBOAT finally became the Champion of Ukraine.
In addition, the athletes of SALSA DRAGONBOAT are permanent members of the Ukrainian national dragonboat team, winners and prizewinners of the World and European National Championships.
A Magyar Sárkányhajó Szövetség sportolói 2026. július 8 - 12 között - München/Németország - a 16. EDBF Sárkányhajó Európa - bajnokságon, 2026. augusztus 29 - szeptember 6. között - Taipej/Kína - a 15. IDBF Klub Legénység Sárkányhajó Világbajnokságon versenyeznek. Simi 2026-ban ismét útra kel, hogy elkísérje, segítse a magyar sportolókat a világversenyeken.
